Well, well, well…..!! About 3 months ago NOBODY thought this would happen but as of today, Friday the 8th of December, the new Pugwash Christmas single in aid of Brainwave is un-leashed on Ireland and the WORLD!! Physical copies are available to buy at all the major stores nationwide but all you lucky Pug-fans from other far-flung regions can purchase a little 5-inch bundle of Christmas joy HERE .

You can also click on our little Chrimble picture at the top of the page to download the tracks for the miniscule price of e2.99!! And remember the cause…..

As regards promotion for the single, well, things could not be going any better. Ireland’s national state run radio station RTE have A Listed the single on it’s daytime playlist!! RTE Radio1 have also playlisted the track as have the wonderful Phantom FM. The single has recieved fantastic reviews in The Irish Times, Hot Press and was given Single Of The Week in the Evening Herald’s mass-syndicated Metro daily paper.

The lads performed a wonderful live version of Tinsel on Dave Fanning’s The Last Broadcast TV program and will be appearing on the biggest Saturday night TV show in the country Tubridy Tonight this Saturday (The 9th). Not only that but the band on the night will consist of Thomas, Keith, Aidan, Daragh, Neil Hannon, Johnny Boyle, Lucy Coady, Elton Mullally and in his first Irish TV appearance in 27 years the genius Mr. Dave Gregory. An amazing all-star cast you must agree!! Other TV appearances over the next 2 weeks will be Pop4 – SMS – SEOIGE & O’SHEA – Popscene – Channel 6 and more to be announced. Thomas has been very busy doing every concievable radio show and will appear on Ryan Tubridy’s top-rated radio show on Friday the 8th at 9am. The man who started the ball rolling on all this so to speak, Rick O’Shea will also air a very special Christmas Pugwash Session on his show on Monday the 11th, please tune in for that!!

What more can we here at Pug-Towers say except HAPPY CHRISTMAS and please go out and buy TINSEL AND MARZIPAN as soon as you can!!

The people at Brainwave and The Band will be eternally grateful…..

Peace and Love xxxxx

hi all – when i heard this song on the tubridy show I was somewhat underwhelmed – and then found myself humming the damn thing all sunday and monday. That is the sign of a X-mas hit – a good song – very catchy – hope it reaches No.1 – Loved the jacket thomas was wearing very glam rock – the song itself is a cross between a roy wood song and a beach boys song (definitely shades of God Only Knows) and is maddeningly catchy. For the record I loathe marzipan but do love ELO and Cricket – will be catching some of the next test where the aussies will probably thrash england. Now I know why I always like the Divine Comedy. Regards all Maurice

ps – I bought it as an i-tunes download but will buy a physical copy to keep up my pugwash collection – I expect it to be signed Mr. Walsh!!!!!!!!!

It’s addictive and bears repeated listening over-and-over-and-over-and-over-and-over-and-over-and-over-and-over-and-over-and-over.

A little bird tells me that the sales are TANTALISINGLY CLOSE to a significant chart placing.

If you haven’t got a copy yet then get out there (or online) and do your bit.

Since purchasing the single my 13 month old daughter gets all excited whenever it is played and sort of dances to it – big happy laughs – is she the youngest pugwash fan? Also I was wondering are there any copies of Almond Tea or Almanac left for sale in the pugwash vaults as I have several friends trying to get hold of same.

The song is wonderful. I loved it even before I knew who all of those extra guest stars were. The iTunes will have to hold me till my tactily pleasing hard copy arrives.

A heartfelt project for a very worthy cause from all of you lovely gents.

No23 chart entry – not bad – only 22 places to go – here’s hoping – just bought a few copies as X-mas presents – it is a real grower and I am still humming it at the oddest moments – would love to see it released in the UK next X-mas

Word of mouth gets the single into the top30.

Now let’s see what a few plays will do.

Has anyone else heard it used as the Christmas Message from
    2FM ? They’ve been playing it just before 5:00pm
    the last couple of evenings.

Sorry….I am indeed a worm, verily lower than the selfsame gonads of said worm’s, nay a sphincter of the highest order or something equally low and horrible. I’d lash meself with a whip, but I expect I would enjoy it too much for it to be a suitable punishment for missing your email on Dec. 13th.

I am nice person normally…honest. I yam from Drimnagh like. Best wishes for the New Year
